Make Dining Part of Your Branson, Missouri Experience

October 11th, 2008
Jason Collmorgen asked:

less of whether you’re going to Branson, Missouri for shows and shopping, or theme parks and lake activities, everyone eventually needs to refuel, re-energize, and relax.  What better place to kick back and unwind than at one of the many great restaurants the Branson area has to offer. You’ll find a wide variety of restaurants for every taste, from national chains (such as the Olive Garden and Red Lobster) to treasured local favorites (such as Granny’s Restaurant and McFarlain’s).

For those who don’t know, Branson has a residential population of approximately 7,000 and an annual tourist population of more than 7,000,000. With that in mind, it is easy to imagine the diverse selection of restaurant choices available to area visitors (and the lucky residents). So whether you’re looking for a fine dining restaurant experience, a casual family buffet, or just some really fast food, you’ll find it all in Branson, Missouri.

Due to the high tourist volume, it’s best to plan your vacation ahead of time; this includes deciding where to eat. You should consider consulting a Branson, Missouri restaurant guide to gather information on area restaurants to help make your dining as memorable and enjoyable as your other vacation activities. One such website where you can find an assortment of information and even customer reviews is DineBranson.com.

Here is a quick FYI; there aren’t many restaurants in Branson that accept reservations, some, but not many. Generally the only exception to this is in the case of large groups, so it is beneficial to groups to make a reservation or you just may end up having to change your dining plans. And depending on the size of your group, you may want to be sure the restaurant has the capacity to handle you.

Also keep in mind there are numerous bus tours that go to Branson everyday, so with that said, depending on the time of year, expect a wait at most of the more popular eating establishments. If you are a little impatient (or just really hungry), you might want to opt for one of the many great buffets Branson is famous for. Just be sure to take a little time researching your dining options before you go so that you don’t miss out on a delicious meal like seafood, steak, or BBQ just to name a few. Whatever and wherever you choose to eat, I hope you enjoy your Branson vacation.

Places to Go While Dating in Missouri

October 8th, 2008
Francis Githinji asked:

Missouri is a state in the United States of America. The capital city of Missouri is called the Jefferson City. It is the 18th most populated state in the United States of America. This state has a humid continental climate and it usually experiences extreme temperatures. The winters in this state are cold while the summers are hot and humid. The climate of Missouri is usually influenced by the air from the cold Arctic and the humid Gulf of Mexico. While dating in Missouri, you can go to all the fun places there are in Missouri and have fun with your date. After all, company is all we sometimes need and when we have it, we should make sure use of it.

If you are dating in Missouri you should go to the Airline History Museum which is found in the Historic Downtown Airport. This museum has a lot of artifacts, photos, gallery items and so many things that are sure to get your attention. They are beautiful to look at. You should also visit the Nelson Atkins museum. This museum is found in a neoclassical structure. It has a collection of American and European arts. They have a display of Chinese Temple room and a sealed Egyptian tomb that are beautiful to see. The best thing about this museum is that it is for free and though you might have to pay if you go to some places in the museum, the fee charged is small compared to other places.

You can visit the Zoo if you are dating in Missouri and an example of a zoo you can go to is the St Louis Zoo which is free of charge. This zoo is great and it has many animals in it that you can see at a very close range. It also has exhibits that resemble each animals natural habitat. You can also go to Missouri Botanical Garden that has a nice fragrance garden. You can also go for a tour in the ride the ducks Branson. The tour takes about eighty minutes. This tour starts from the land and goes on into the lake for a boat tour. You will get to see wonderful sites if you take a ride here. You will be able to see the Tablerock Lake Dam and Showboat Banson Belle.

While dating in Missouri you can go to Grant Farm which is in St Louis County. This farm has about a thousand animals that come from different continents. Some of this animals are endangered and the farm helps to preserve them. This farm has about 300 acres of land. You can also dine in this place and watch shows that are constantly held here. They also have a place where you can go to get your mate a gift. You can also go to the Silver Dollar city and learn about how people who used to live here a long time ago used to make their tools. You can then be given a chance in this place to make something like a pot or a flower vase.

Cabin Rentals - Make Family Vacations Special

October 7th, 2008
Rich Herman asked:

Treat your family to a cabin rental on your next vacation or weekend getaway. Imagine yourself relaxing, laying in a hammock outside of your beautiful log or cedar cabin. You have plenty of space around you and you are enjoying the fresh air and magnificent scenery, instead of looking out at all of the cars jammed into the hotel parking lot. Can you picture yourself beginning to unwind now that you are away from the office and the fast pace of city life? There is something special about renting a cabin for your vacation. You will be glad that you did, and your kids will talk about it for years. We rented a log cabin on our last vacation, and our kids still think that it was the neatest place that we ever stayed.

Cabin rentals come in all shapes and sizes. Choose from rustic pioneer cabins or lookout towers, small cozy log or cedar cabins, or opt for a large luxurious cabin or vacation home. Cabins range from small 1-bedroom cabins to large cabins with 10, 12 or more bedrooms. Whether you are looking for a small intimate cabin for two or something that can accommodate dozens of family members or friends, the right cabin is waiting for you. Cabin rentals are available throughout the United States. Often, located in out-of-the-way places with magnificent scenery, cabins provide a great alternative to an ordinary hotel stay, and there are cabin rentals that fit any budget.

Here are some top cabin rental locations to consider for your next family vacation or getaway. Each of these areas offer a wide selection of cabin rentals, and plenty of fun for the entire family.

Big Bear Cabins - Big Bear Lake, California is a four seasons resort community surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest. It is approximately 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles, California. The area offers a wide range of cabin rentals, and vacation rentals for year-round family fun. Activities include boating and water sports, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golfing, skiing, snowboarding and many other fun family activities.

Smoky Mountain Cabins - The Great Smoky Mountains are a major mountain range in the southern part of the Appalachian Mountains. Also called the Smoky Mountains or the Smokies, they straddle the border between Tennessee and North Carolina, and attract millions of visitors each year. There are many wonderful cabins and cabin rentals available throughout the Smoky Mountains. Both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are two great communities that offer a nice selection of cabin rentals. While you are in the area visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, ride the country’s largest aerial tram to the top of Ober Gatlinburg, and visit the famous Dollywood Theme Park.

Branson Cabins - Branson, Missouri is nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains not far from Table Rock Lake. The area offers plenty of fun for the entire family. If you enjoy the outdoors there is fishing, boating and other water sports, hiking, horseback riding, and golf. While you are in the area be sure and visit the famous Silver Dollar City Theme Park, and take in some shows in Branson. It will be a trip that the entire family enjoys, and there are many good cabin rentals here.

As I mentioned, there are cabin rentals available throughout the United States and these come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges. I have mentioned just a few of the more popular spots, here, to give you some ideas for your next family vacation. Take the time to create lasting memories for you and your children. Make your next trip extra special by renting a cabin - you will be glad that you did!

Arkansas, by Kelley Thompson

October 7th, 2008
Rajinder Dogra asked:

Arkansas has adopted the Natural State slogan because of its rolling mountains, scenic lakes and rushing rivers, but it also has a number of historic sites. Many of its most popular attractions are in the northwest quadrant, so this article starts in Little Rock and travels clockwise through this portion of the state, outlining a 5-8 day itinerary, which can easily be combined with a trip to nearby Branson.

Little Rock

Even though the Clintons now live in New York City, they have brought activity and attention to the area. The Clinton Presidential Library and Park, recently opened to the public, sits at the lip of the Arkansas River.

Central High School is a reminder of our divided past. Nine African-American students were escorted by military forces in 1957 into the school, finally testing the Supreme Court decision requiring classroom integration.

The Old State House Museum houses a museum of state history and is known as the site of President Clintons election night celebrations in 1992 and 1996. The Old Mill, across the Arkansas River in North Little Rock, is famous for being the site of the opening scene in Gone With the Wind.

Fort Smith

Judge Isaac C. Parker made the Fort Smith National Historic Site in his 21-year stint as the Hanging Judge. Two recreated walk-in jail sites and the remains of two military posts offer glimpses into the areas dangerous frontier foundations. The gallows, recreated for modern visitation, was capable of hanging more than six men at a time.

The Boston Mountain Scenic Loop near Fayetteville is a terrific introduction to the fantastic vistas of the Ozark Mountains. Take a scenic ride on the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad over three high trestles and through the highest pass between the Rockies and Appalachians aboard vintage passenger cars.

Fayetteville/Rogers/Lowell

In Fayetteville tours and attractions are available for every season. Withrow Springs State Park along War Eagle Creek offers a plethora of outdoor activities for the active bunch, and natural hot water springs for those wanting a relaxing dip.

Travel north to the Rogers-Lowell area. War Eagle Cavern, Beaver Lake, and the Ozarks themselves are three spectacular reasons that Arkansas is known as the Natural State. The cavern features a rim stone dam, underground stream, stalactites and stalagmites, as well as a gift shop. Beaver Lakes 28,000 acres offer every water activity imaginable, including scuba diving.

Eureka Springs

This village nestled in the Ozarks became popular in the late 1800s because the healing powers of its natural springs led to the development of spa resorts. Today the area is packed with antique and craft shops and boutiques, set in Victorian architecture along narrow, winding streets. The Great Passion Play here is the nations most attended outdoor drama.

My fiance and I are working from a small budget and planning a simple backyard kind of ceremony next year and are looking for good locations in and around the Branson Missouri or Harrison Arkansas area. We’re thinking something like a state park or lake setting. Can anyone give us some ideas?

Country Music Legend Jim Owen

October 5th, 2008
Joyce ramgatie asked:

http://www.jimowenmusic.net/

Charlie Daniels once called Jim Owen country music’s least known superstar, and that may be true in some cases, but he is certainly not unknown to ardent country music fans all over the world. He is also well known in Branson, Missouri, the Live entertainment capitol of the world.

Jim Owen calls himself “the luckiest man in the world,” and he means it. “I love performing, and I love to make people laugh,” he says, and that’s what he does each day at the Country Tonite Theatre in Branson. The Jim Owen Show is a favorite of the millions that come to Branson each year. People love Jim’s offbeat sense of humor and his from-the-heart singing style.

Jim is a great songwriter, he’s starred in movies and may be the best pure entertainer in the business. The “Best Entertainer” statement was underscored in 1985 and again in 1987 when Jim was named “Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year.” He starred in “Legends in Concert” at the Imperial Palace on the world-famous strip for six years, one of the longest “runs” in Vegas history.

Fans in Japan, Australia, and Hawaii, were treated to the Jim Owen magic when he took his show on a world tour. Jim has also toured Holland, Germany, Belgium,

and the British Isles, and was one of the first country singers to appear at the renowned Glasgow Music Festival.

A lot of his fans know and love him for his portrayals of Hank Williams Sr, in two television movies, and he always includes a tribute to the “King of Country” in his show. His PBS special “Hank” was voted public televisions best show of the year in 1977.

The Must-sees in Branson, Missouri

October 1st, 2008
Dave Wertz asked:

If you are searching through Branson Missouri vacation packages for your next trip to the inspiring landscape in the Ozark Mountains, you’ve probably realized something: there is a LOT to do in this little town!  With so many opportunities to appreciate the outdoors, see live concert performances and experience this beautiful town, a Branson vacation is never long enough.  However, there are some must see Branson attractions that every visitor should enjoy.

Silver Dollar City – This replica of 19th century life gives visitors a taste of the history of Southwest Missouri.  Opportunities to see candy making, blacksmith work and other traditional crafts of yesteryear make Silver Dollar City an attraction that the whole family will love.  Situated at Marvel Cave, a National Natural Landmark discovered by the Osage Indians in the 1500s, this “city” features dozens of amusement park rides including The Giant Barn Swing and the Grand Exposition Coaster.  You may recognize it from the popular television show, “The Beverly Hillbillies.”  The park is open from March through December, and discount Branson tickets are often available to lessen entry fees.

Branson Landing – With a gigantic water fountain display synchronized with lights, music and fire, kids love spending time on Branson Landing.  This tourist Mecca gives shoppers plenty of reasons to cheer.  With hundreds of retail stores, this is one of many Branson attractions that lets visitors go home with souvenirs and mementos from their time in Missouri.  Be sure to browse through Branson Missouri vacation packages to check availability of hotels on the waterfront at Branson Landing.  Shopping can be right outside the front door!

Stockstill Park – While there are obviously many chances to see the sights and hear the sounds of Branson, Stockstill Park requires no discount Branson tickets because there is no admission cost!  These 62 peaceful acres are on this list of Branson attractions because sometimes quiet is a must-have on any vacation.

Music – Listing one venue and one show is impossible for this list, but almost any of the Branson Missouri vacation packages will offer tickets to one of the hundreds of performances in town.  Wayne Newton, Kenny Rogers and a lengthy list of musical personalities have founded theaters in Branson.  While you are here, seeing at least one of these shows is a must.

Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede – Another of the most popular Branson attractions is this country music superstar’s Dixie Stampede, which includes a home-style dinner and a Wild West horse competition.  This is one of only three locations in the world for Parton’s Dixie Stampede so be sure to pick up discount Branson tickets for this event.

Perhaps the only downside to Branson is that the list of “Can’t Miss Attractions” could go on forever.  While you may not have enough time to see them all, a vacation in Branson gives you and your family the chance to enjoy a town with a character and charm all of its own.

Turn Your Love of Chocolate From a Secret Pleasure to a Fun Social Event

October 1st, 2008
santosh kumar asked:

Chocolate isn’t a Food, but an Experience

Few words evoke the emotional enthusiasm people feel toward chocolate. It has a treasured place in our personal collection of memories - the Easter baskets, the birthday treats, the candy displays at Christmas, the heart that told you someone loves you.

It started young. During our special times, chocolate was there - an integral part of the event. One taste of chocolate (or even the thought alone) makes the mouth water and the emotional associations rush in. It brings back the multitude of fondly-remembered feel-good experiences we didn’t want to end.

So a great-testing piece of chocolate inevitably makes us happy inside. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that chocolate contains phenyl ethylamine (PEA), a natural substance that’s reputed to stimulate the same reaction in the body as falling in love. That’s why, even at times when we’re feeling down, anything chocolate feels so comforting.

Chocolate is Meant to be Shared

My favorite career was owning The Chocolate Factory in Branson, Missouri. Making chocolate inspired me; it’s so apparent that it makes a person’s soul happy. My passion led me to create 300 new chocolate products and 26 different flavored fudges (one of which won the title, “World’s Best Chocolate” in 1986).

Out of that grew the Chocolate Fantasy events, which are used as non-profit fundraisers. People can’t resist the 30 to 40 different kinds of chocolate creations offered. It combines three great things - chocolate, fun, and doing well through the charity. As crowd-pleasing and impressive as those events are, these same techniques can be accomplished by a rank beginner. With equally enthusiastic reactions.

Making chocolate goodies with others improves the flavor - as well as the enjoyment.

Visualize your whole family gathered around in the kitchen, making gourmet chocolates together. Smell that wonderful chocolate aroma, feel the rich texture of gourmet chocolate goodies in your fingers.

Now that’s fun! And you’re all creating memories you’ll never forget, at the same time.

You Can “Do this at Home”

The Old Time Chocolate Cookbook I wrote shows how to make truly gourmet chocolate in your own home, using the tools you’ve already got. Without prior experience, anyone can create professional-quality results your friends will rave about. You’ll reveal out-of-the-ordinary chocolate expertise. All because you grasp the subtle differences of taste and texture between your gourmet concoctions, and what is sold at the store.

Learn tricks that the pros know. For instance, did you know you must NEVER introduce water into the chocolate during the manufacturing stage? A few drops of water will turn a pot of chocolate into the consistency of modeling clay. Why not try a recipe that will satisfy any chocolate craving?

Chocolate Toffee

2 cups granulated sugar

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup dark corn syrup

dash salt

½ cup whipping cream

½ stick (¼ cup) butter

Line an 8-inch baking pan with buttered foil. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Begin cooking over medium heat, lowering heat as candy thickens. Cook to 250 degrees F. Pour into prepared pan and let cool. Break into bite-sized pieces or cut and wrap in plastic film.

Check out other chocolate recipes, tricks, and lore from my book at

http://oldtymechocolate.com/home.php.

Dazzle your friends and family with your chocolate proficiency. It’s sure to raise your reputation, along with your social standing. Best of all, you’ll find yourself as welcome as the chocolate masterpieces you create. It’s all in knowing how.
